Exercise Training in Women with Heart Disease: A Randomized Controlled Trial

We hope this study will provide valuable information on the role of physical activity in improving clinical, exercise and mental health outcomes in women with heart disease.

Exercise Training in Women with Heart Disease: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Principal Investigator: Dr. Jennifer Reed

We are currently recruiting women living with heart disease for a research study which seeks to compare two exercise training programs on fitness and mental health. Participants will have health measures taken (such as height, weight, blood pressure, and body composition), undergo exercise tests, and complete questionnaires. They will then be randomly assigned to one of two 12-week virtual exercise training programs (moderate-intensity continuous exercise training group, or high-intensity interval training group). The exercise sessions will be free of charge and conducted virtually.

We hope this study will provide valuable information on the role of physical activity in improving clinical, exercise and mental health outcomes in women with heart disease.
