Biography
Sonia Dancey, born and raised in Ottawa, completed her undergraduate studies and medical school at the University of Ottawa. She is now a resident in Obstetrics & Gynecology at McMaster University.
Throughout her studies, Sonia developed a strong passion for women’s health initiatives and has been an active member of the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance since 2021. She has been involved in projects focusing on bringing women’s cardiovascular health curriculum to schools and training programs, as well as involved in planning the annual Wear Red Canada Day in support of women’s cardiovascular health.
Sonia is eager to continue to bring awareness to women’s cardiovascular health, and especially in the ways that it relates to obstetrics and the postpartum period.
