She is an Iranian girl that immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 13, bringing with her a rich cultural background and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives. Pani's journey to Canada instilled in her a sense of resilience and adaptability, qualities that she brings to her academic pursuits and community involvement.

As a second-year biology student, Pani is patient and persistent in her pursuit of research opportunities, recognizing the importance of gaining hands-on experience in the field of cardiovascular health. She is actively engaged in exploring various avenues for research, whether through university labs, community partnerships, or extracurricular activities. Pani understands that research experience is invaluable for her future aspirations and is committed to seizing every opportunity to contribute to advancements in women's heart health.

In addition to her academic endeavors, Pani is deeply engaged in her community, participating in multiple activities aimed at promoting health and wellness. From volunteering at her local hospital to organizing educational workshops for other UBC students, Pani is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those around her. Her passion for community engagement extends beyond healthcare, as she is also involved in initiatives supporting immigrant integration, youth empowerment, and cultural exchange.

Driven by her desire to make a difference in the field of cardiovascular medicine, Pani aspires to become a cardiac surgeon. She is motivated by the opportunity to combine her scientific knowledge with her passion for patient care, ultimately working towards improving outcomes for individuals affected by heart disease. Through her involvement in the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance (CWHHA), Pani looks forward to collaborating with fellow members to advance the mission of promoting women's heart health across Canada and beyond.
