Biography

Keshandi Thompson is a dual scholarship recipient having her undergraduate studies and medical school education, fully funded via scholarships. She completed her medical education and training at Southeast University in Nanjing, China and received her medical degree in 2014. She demonstrated exemplary leadership skills during a 52-week internship where she was awarded outstanding intern. She continued work in the field of cardiology working closely with the Bahamas’ only Cardiologist to improve her skills and clinical knowledge. Further training led her to work as a Physician Assistant and ultimately as a Clinical Assistant in a local clinic in Calgary where she continues to practice her love for the medical field, She is also working closely with one of Calgary's cardiologists, gaining knowledge on the Cardiovascular diseases Canadians face. She also volunteers with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada where she spends her free time volunteering to help medical providers and the general public regarding cerebro cardiovascular disease and the Covid-19 pandemic. She is passionate about women's cardiovascular health and is actively seeking to contribute to research in this area.Keshandi is a dedicated healthcare professional and is looking to apply her skills and knowledge in a career within the healthcare sector.
