Biography
Fatima Gimba moved to Canada in 2019 and holds a Master's in Diplomacy and Strategic Studies from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She has over 10 years of experience in project and program management. She has served on the Board of Directors for Community Legal Services Ottawa, contributing to various committees for 3 years, and has been a board member at Kind Space since 2020. She has also volunteered with the AIDS Committee of Ottawa for over 3 years.
Fatima continues to support initiatives fighting food insecurity in underserved communities through a grassroots group at Centretown Community Health Centre and Food Sharing Ottawa. Fatima believes that access to quality food is essential for physical and mental health. Passionate about policy analysis, community development, advocacy, anti-oppression, social change, and education, she is committed to advancing health equity for more inclusive and healthy communities through needs assessment, advocacy and education.
