Biography
My name is Cheryl MacKenzie, I am 57 years old and I am a survivor of two TIAs and MI.
My involvement with the Heart and Stroke Foundation began in 2013, just after I had my MI. I was in contact with Karen at the Halifax office and things just seemed to go from there. I have since participated in the P2P campaign as a canvasser and most recently as a Captain. I have also helped out for the last four years with the Hockey for Heroes weekend in Halifax. My Hotel Team and I have participated in the Big Bike Ride for the last four years as well.
I attended the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Summit in April 2018 in Ottawa as well as the virtual Summit in February 2021. My goal is to provide support using my own personal experience so that no other woman ever has to go through what I have gone through since my early 20’s. If I can help anyone… it will be all worth it.
